LOWER BACK PAIN IN PREGNANT WOMEN ASSISTED BY PRIMARY HEALTH CARE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF GURUPI-TO

INTRODUCTION: Low back pain is one of the most common symptoms during pregnancy, with a poorly understood etiology and multifactorial origin. It may be related to biomechanical, hormonal, vascular, and psychological aspects. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study is to identify the prevalence of low back pain in pregnancy and the aspects that interfere with the pregnant woman's life. METHOD: A cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach will be conducted with pregnant women receiving prenatal care at three Basic Health Units in the city of Gurupi-TO. Data collection will take place from February to October 2025. A questionnaire will be used covering sociodemographic data, characteristics of low back pain, and aspects that interfere with the lives of pregnant women. RESULTS FOUND: The study revealed a high prevalence of lower back pain in pregnant women treated at three primary health care units, with onset predominantly in the second trimester and a significant impact on quality of life. Most did not receive structured treatment. The data highlight the need for greater attention from Primary Care, with multidisciplinary interventions and health education programs.
