REGIONAL MEDIA AND THE PRODUCTION OF YOUTH SUBJECTIVITIES: STEREOTYPES, POWER, AND NORMALIZATION

This article aims to understand the role of regional portals in shaping conceptions of youth. The research is qualitative in nature, according to Goldenberg (2004), and employs content analysis methodology based on Bardin (2016) approach. The study examined the portals RiachaoNet and Cidades na Net, located in the municipality of Picos/PI, analyzing the articles they published in January 2024. The theoretical perspectives of Foucault (1987; 2004), Rolnik (2018), Deleuze and Guattari (2011), and Guattari and Rolnik (2011) were used. The results show that the portals employed stereotypical and negative ways of viewing young people, framing them as drug traffickers, irresponsible individuals, and victims, reflecting power relations that perpetuate stigmas and marginalization associated with youth.
