FRAGMENTED PSYCHE: A JUNGIAN ANALYSIS OF THE ARCHETYPES OF SHADOW, ANIMA, AND MOTHER COMPLEX IN THE CASE OF EDWARD THEODORE GEIN

This article presents a theoretical analysis of the Edward Theodore Gein case through the lens of Carl Gustav Jung's Analytical Psychology. Using a qualitative bibliographic approach, it investigates the complex psychic dynamics underlying his behavioral manifestations, with particular focus on the expression of the Shadow, Anima, and Mother Complex archetypes and their interconnections with the Great Mother archetype. The study moves beyond conventional psychiatric diagnoses by interpreting these behaviors as symbolic expressions of profound imbalances within the collective unconscious and significant disruptions in the individuation process.
