INTRUMENTOS OBSERVACIONAIS NA PSICOMETRIA DA DOR EM PACIENTES NÃO-COMUNICATIVOS COM DEMÊNCIA: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

Introdução: A dor é subdiagnosticada e subtratada nos idosos demenciados. Portanto, para que seja possível aliviar o sofrimento nessa população, é necessário buscar maneiras de identificar esse sintoma naqueles incapazes de comunicá-lo. Objetivo: Identificar instrumentos de observação comportamental para heteroavaliação da dor em pacientes com demência, bem como suas propriedades psicométricas. Método: Revisão Integrativa da literatura cuja coleta de dados foi realizada entre janeiro e março de 2021, nas bases de dados MEDLINE, IBECS, LILACS e BDENF. Resultados: Foram amostrados 5 instrumentos validados, apresentados em ordem de publicação e com suas respectivas propriedades psicométricas identificadas e organizadas. Cada instrumento teve sua utilidade clínica estudada e submetida a uma avaliação qualitativa. Conclusões: os achados dessa pesquisa revelaram cinco estudos de alta qualidade, onde foram desenvolvidos e validados instrumentos de observação comportamental para a heteroavaliação da dor em idosos com demência. Suas propriedades psicométricas foram identificadas e organizadas, levando a uma melhor compreensão de suas possibilidades e limitações. As lacunas identificadas no conhecimento criam simultaneamente um imperativo ético e oportunidades de pesquisa sobre esse tema.
