Abstract

Efficient management of dental clinics has become essential in light of increasing organizational demands and the advancement of digital technologies. This study aimed to investigate the adherence of dentists to management software, considering digitalization as a strategic solution to optimize clinic administration. A validated electronic questionnaire consisting of 22 questions was distributed to 200 dentists in São José dos Campos, resulting in 56 complete responses. The results showed that although 85.7% of participants recognized that the software meets administrative needs, adoption remains limited due to a lack of training (55.4%), inefficient technical support (42.9%), operational difficulties faced by staff (73.2%), and lack of knowledge regarding information security (60.7%) and legal compliance (64.3%). Younger professionals and those with less time in practice demonstrated greater familiarity with digital technologies, while more experienced practitioners exhibited greater resistance. Additionally, 82.1% of respondents considered switching their current systems for more effective alternatives, and 78.6% recommended adopting such tools. It is concluded that, despite the recognition of their importance, management software still faces significant barriers to full adoption, making it necessary to develop more intuitive solutions, qualified technical support, and continuous training strategies to enhance their effectiveness in dental practice.
