The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the classroom has emerged as a relevant topic in contemporary educational discussions, given its potential to transform pedagogical practices. The choice of this topic is justified by the need to understand teachers’ perceptions, given their fundamental role in the implementation of technological innovations in teaching. The main objective of this study is to investigate the barriers and opportunities perceived by teachers in relation to the use of AI in educational environments. The methodology adopts a bibliographic approach, analyzing existing literature on the subject to identify trends and challenges faced. The main results indicate that, while some teachers see AI as an enriching tool that facilitates the personalization of teaching and administrative efficiency, others express concerns about its complexity, cost and impact on human interaction. In conclusion, the study reveals that teacher preparation and continuous training are essential elements to overcome barriers and maximize the opportunities offered by AI in education. The research emphasizes the need for educational policies that promote adequate teacher training, ensuring that they are able to integrate emerging technologies effectively and ethically into their pedagogical practices.
