APPROACH TO AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE IN MORAÚJO - CE: TRAINING FOR EARLY SIGNS AND MANAGEMENT

Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has become a major public health problem, as it needs a diagnosis that is not always efficient, due to the complexity of the spectrum, the lack of trained professionals for the care and monitoring of these patients and the scarcity information on the roles of the institutions that make up the network in caring for TEA. The aim of the present study is to identify children with ASD early in primary care in Moraújo - CE, contributing to adequate management, after training professionals in family health teams. We used the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers Scale (M-CHAT) as a result in the development of more skills associated with screening tool, a protocol recommended by the Ministry of Health in primary care 126 evaluations were carried out that resulted in 06 suspected cases and that were later confirmed after a specialized evaluation. The diagnosed children started early intervention, which significant gains in children's cognitive and adaptive functioning.
