Abstract

This study presents an analysis of the application of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in the treatment of depression among hyperconnected youth, highlighting challenges and solutions reported in recent Brazilian research. The objective was to understand how cognitive and behavioral techniques contribute to reducing depressive symptoms associated with excessive use of digital technologies and social networks. A qualitative literature review was carried out, selecting full articles that addressed interventions aimed at adolescents and young adults. The results indicated that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, applied individually or in groups, promotes significant improvement in mood, school engagement, and family relationships by restructuring automatic thoughts and reorganizing routines affected by hyperconnectivity. Techniques such as psychoeducation, behavioral activation, Socratic questioning, and relapse prevention were identified as resources that strengthen emotional autonomy and favor the construction of healthy habits. The discussion shows that the approach requires sensitivity to integrate aspects of the patient’s digital context, as well as family involvement and adjustments in therapeutic strategies. It is concluded that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an effective tool to address the emotional demands of hyperconnected youth, contributing to depression management and to the development of skills needed in contemporary life.
