Abstract

Artificial Intelligence has become a strategic resource in medical education, offering possibilities for pedagogical innovation and improvement of professional training. This study analyzed contributions, challenges, and future perspectives of the use of intelligent systems in medical teaching, focusing on their application in the learning process and in the development of clinical skills. The research, qualitative in nature, was based on a bibliographic review of national scientific articles published between 2018 and 2025, organized into thematic categories. The results showed that Artificial Intelligence can favor personalized learning, simulate clinical practices in a safe environment, stimulate critical reasoning, and increase student engagement. On the other hand, limitations related to lack of infrastructure, the need for faculty training, inequality of access, and ethical risks were identified. The perspectives point to the growing integration of technology into medical curricula, including active methodologies, telemedicine programs, adaptive learning, and automated assessment. It is concluded that Artificial Intelligence should be incorporated as a complementary tool, preserving the centrality of human contact, empathy, and ethics in medical education. The study contributes to the academic debate by gathering reflections that allow a better understanding of the role of technology in training health professionals who are better prepared to face contemporary challenges.
