In this article, I analyze the impact of technology and the lack of regulation on the increase of online sexual crimes against children and adolescents. I aim to understand how the rapid technological evolution, combined with the absence of effective public policies, has contributed to the growth of abuse and exploitation practices in digital environments. I used a qualitative and bibliographic methodology, based on recent studies on law, technology, and child protection. I examined the gaps in current legislation, the weakness of preventive policies, and the lack of international cooperation mechanisms to combat virtual crimes. The results show that current laws are reactive and fragmented, unable to keep pace with technological advances, which increases victims’ vulnerability. I conclude that protecting children in cyberspace requires an interdisciplinary approach combining legal regulation, digital ethics, and preventive education. I argue for integrated public policies and the creation of a global digital governance system to ensure balance between technological progress and the protection of children’s fundamental rights.
