SWEET POTATO CORNER - AN INTEGRATED PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICE BETWEEN AGROECOLOGICAL SPACE AND PHYSICS TEACHING

Traditional education is far removed from traditional knowledge, a worrying situation, especially when schools serve a predominantly rural population. In this paper, we will reflect on how an agroecological space, based on practices typical of family farming, can improve the quality of physics education for students primarily from rural communities and/or traditional communities. From an interdisciplinary perspective, we will discuss the links between traditional knowledge, agroecological practices, physics concepts, and, above all, the relationships between the individual as part of the environment and the production of scientific knowledge. A solid theoretical foundation allows for the exploration of methodological possibilities, pointing to paths for the implementation of a holistic pedagogical model that values the relationship between environment, science, and cultural identity, thus contributing to the construction of a culturally meaningful and relevant space for science education.
