THE INCLUSION OF DEAF PEOPLE IN EDUCATION AND SOCIETY USING THE ANIME "KOE NO KATACHI" (A SILENT VOICE)

The inclusion of deaf people in education and society is a matter of great relevance and importance. This study uses the anime "Koe no Katachi" (A Silent Voice) as a tool to explore and promote this inclusion. The analysis focused on three main objectives: to analyze the representation of deafness and deaf people in the anime, to explore the importance of sign language within the narrative, and to propose pedagogical strategies based on the anime to promote the inclusion of deaf people in education. The results show that "Koe no Katachi" offers a sensitive and accurate representation of the experiences of deaf people, highlighting daily challenges, the importance of empathy, and the crucial role of sign language. Sign language is portrayed as a vital tool for effective communication and inclusion, symbolizing effort, empathy, and acceptance. Based on the analysis, several pedagogical strategies were proposed, including translation activities, sign language workshops, the creation of inclusive teaching materials, and outreach to the school community. These strategies aim to create more welcoming and inclusive learning environments for both deaf and hearing students. In conclusion, the use of "Koe no Katachi" to encourage the inclusion of deaf people in education highlights the importance of continuous and conscious efforts to build a more equitable society. Inclusion is a dynamic process that requires dedication, empathy, and a proactive approach from all educational and social stakeholders.
