THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE JUDICIAL PROCESS

This study aims to analyze the impacts, benefits, and ethical challenges arising from the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Brazilian judicial process. The research was conducted through a bibliographic review with a qualitative and quantitative approach, using national and international scientific sources from databases such as Scielo, Google Scholar, and legal journals. The main applications of AI in the Judiciary were examined, including automated case screening, jurisprudence analysis, draft decision generation, and outcome prediction. The results indicate that AI significantly contributes to the modernization of the justice system by promoting greater speed, resource savings, and expanded access to justice. However, associated risks were also identified, such as algorithmic opacity, bias reproduction, and the lack of specific regulation. It is concluded that the use of AI should occur in a critical, ethical, and regulated manner, respecting constitutional principles and fundamental rights.
