This article shares the experience of a school mediator in the Mato Grosso state public school system, leading the Supervised Internship Program: My Future Teacher (PES-MFP). The program, launched by SEDUC-MT through Public Notice No. 014/2023, aims to strengthen initial teacher training through collaboration between basic education schools and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). From the perspective of daily practice in schools, the text discusses the role of the mediator, their responsibilities, the challenges faced, and the learning acquired throughout the process. It reflects on the importance of supervised internships as a bridge between the academic world and the school environment, where the teacher is built through interaction.
