Introduction: Health education is a strategic component of Brazilian public policies, playing an essential role in health promotion, strengthening the Unified Health System (SUS), and developing citizenship. Its evolution, from a prescriptive model to a critical and dialogical approach, reflects advances in teaching-service-community integration. Objective: To analyze the perspectives of health education within the context of Brazilian public policies, considering sociopolitical challenges, regulatory frameworks, and health training practices. Methodology: This study adopted an integrative review method with a qualitative approach, aiming to synthesize scientific productions relevant to the proposed topic. To guide the formulation of the research question and guide the selection of studies, a structured methodological strategy was used. The search was conducted in databases recognized by the scientific community, covering literature published between 2018 and 2025. Results: The studies indicate the consolidation of the National Policy for Continuing Education in Health (PNEPS) as a guideline for educational actions integrated with care. Active methodologies, interprofessionalism, extension experiences, and the use of digital media during the COVID-19 pandemic stand out. However, challenges such as institutional fragmentation, digital exclusion, political discontinuity, and limited intersectoral coordination persist. Conclusion: Health education offers promising prospects when structured around participatory practices, digital inclusion, and coordinated planning. Investing in the critical training of professionals and the integration of health and education is essential for strengthening the Unified Health System (SUS) and the effectiveness of public policies.
