Abstract

This article presents a theoretical statistical analysis of the influence of microstructural variables on the mechanical properties of metallic materials, based on data available in the scientific literature. The objective is to understand how parameters such as grain size, phase fraction, and chemical composition affect the strength and ductility of metals. The research was developed through a bibliographic review and the application of descriptive and inferential statistical methods to correlate data obtained from previous studies. The results indicate that microstructural variables have a significant impact on the mechanical behavior of metals and can be used as predictors in estimating properties such as yield strength and tensile strength. Thus, the study reinforces the importance of integrating Materials Science and Statistics in the modeling and optimization of metallic alloys.
