COMBUSTION AS AN INTERDISCIPLINARY PHENOMENON: THE ANIME FIRE FORCE AS A TEACHING TOOL FOR PHYSICS IN HIGH SCHOOLS IN MACAPÁ, AMAPÁ

This study investigated the pedagogical potential of using media narratives, focusing on the anime Fire Force (Enen no Shouboutai), as a teaching tool in physics education for high school students in public schools in Macapá-Amapá in 2025. Through the construction and application of an interdisciplinary teaching sequence, content such as combustion, heat transfer, thermodynamics, energy, and physical states of matter were explored, correlating them with scenes and concepts from the aforementioned anime. The research, which was qualitative in nature and exploratory in approach, was conducted in five public schools in the municipality of Macapá/AP, involving approximately 150 students. The results point to high student engagement, increased conceptual understanding, and stimulation of critical thinking regarding the intersection between science and pop culture. The proposal was found to be in line with the BNCC guidelines and contributes to scientific literacy through accessible and meaningful language. It is concluded that the use of audiovisual narratives, when well structured pedagogically, can act as a catalyst for more contextualized, critical, and creative learning in science education.
