Insulinoma is the most common functional neuroendocrine tumor of the pancreas, characterized by autonomous insulin secretion and recurrent episodes of hypoglycemia. Although rare, it can affect individuals of any age and gender. Clinically, it presents with neuroglycopenic and autonomic symptoms, often misdiagnosed as neurological or psychiatric disorders, leading to delayed diagnosis. Whipple’s triad, along with laboratory tests and imaging studies, is essential for diagnostic confirmation. Surgical resection is the treatment of choice, offering high cure rates in localized and benign cases. In malignant cases, additional therapeutic strategies are required.
