AN EXPERIENCE REPORT ON THE IDENTIFICATION OF RISK AREAS AND RECENT OUTBREAKS IN RELATION TO ARBOVIROSES AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY

This experience report presents the results and lessons learned from a project aimed at raising public awareness about arboviruses. Activities were held in two schools, where lectures were held that achieved significant community participation, involving students and teachers. The impact of the lectures was notable, contributing to increased knowledge about arboviruses and encouraging a change in participants' perceptions regarding prevention. Additionally, cleanup campaigns were organized, resulting in the collection of large volumes of trash and the elimination of potential breeding sites. The results also highlight the importance of engagement on social media, which has become an effective tool for disseminating information and promoting collective actions. The lessons learned throughout the project emphasize the importance of health education as fundamental to raising public awareness. Community mobilization proved essential, strengthening a sense of social responsibility among residents. Integration between different sectors, such as health and education, was crucial to enhancing the results of the interventions. Furthermore, the need for continuous monitoring of affected areas was identified, allowing for adjustments to strategies as needed. Finally, the importance of ongoing training for healthcare professionals is highlighted to ensure they are up-to-date on best practices in combating arboviruses. In short, this experience reinforces the value of collaboration and collective commitment in promoting public health.
