Introduction: Hand hygiene adherence on a global scale remains below ideal levels, with an average of only 59.6%. This low compliance may contribute to the occurrence of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), most of which are preventable through proper hand hygiene during the five moments recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). In this context, it is crucial to adopt engaging teaching strategies and methodologies to address this topic with adults in the workplace. Objective: To describe the experience of a group of intensive care professionals in producing and using videos as part of in-service education on the five moments of hand hygiene. Methodology: This is a descriptive and reflective study, in the format of an experience report, about the production of videos on the five moments of hand hygiene by professionals from the adult ICU of a teaching hospital, during a campaign on the theme held in May 2023. Realistic simulation was used as a methodological resource for filming, and a “cinema session” was later organized, where pedagogical tools included lecture, discussion, and quiz. Results and Discussion: For the hand hygiene campaign, an innovative approach was taken to explore the five moments recommended by WHO. Inspired by videos available on the website of the Epidemiological Surveillance of São Paulo — created in a different context — the adult ICU team produced videos adapted to their own sector’s reality and routine. The production involved several stages: developing the script; selecting actors (ICU staff and residents); setting the scene, filming, and editing. Later, the “CINE UTIAD” was organized, with sessions in all three work shifts to ensure full team participation. During the screenings, popcorn was served, and between videos, short explanations were given about the five moments of hand hygiene, along with interactive questions. Final Considerations: The experience proved to be extremely positive and enriching, starting from the video production phase, as all participants were highly engaged. As for the viewers, we received positive feedback on the initiative, as they were able to visualize, in practice and in the ICU context, the five hand hygiene moments recommended by WHO. Participation was effective, with active interaction both in recognizing the actors and in responding to the questions about hand hygiene.
