THE EVOLUTION OF MULTIMEDIA RESOURCES AND THEIR IMPACTS ON EDUCATION: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES IN THE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

The educational field has evolved and transformed with the introduction of technological devices. In different educational contexts, it is possible to witness changes in students' teaching and learning processes. In this context, multimedia resources have gained space and provided new educational experiences. Therefore, the objective of this work is to understand the transformations caused by the use of multimedia resources, analyzing the benefits and challenges in contemporary education, in addition to reflecting on its impact on the formation of essential skills for the 21st century. This work was created using bibliographical research methodology, dialoguing with authors who discuss the use of multimedia in the educational context. We will see that the introduction of technologies through multimedia resources has made the educational process more dynamic, accessible and aligned with the individual needs of students. Furthermore, these tools have shown a positive impact on student engagement and motivation, contributing to the development of critical and creative skills essential for the 21st century. However, the effective implementation of these tools faces significant challenges, such as inequality in access to technology and the need for adequate training of educators. Therefore, it is essential that institutions overcome existing barriers, ensuring that all educators are prepared to integrate these innovations and prepare students as active creators of knowledge, ready to face the challenges of the 21st century.
