Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the impact of the transition of care in the pediatric clinic on families' satisfaction with nursing care. This is a field research, with a quantitative approach and descriptive character, carried out with 32 family members of children admitted to a hospital in the interior of Maranhão, between September and November 2025. The data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics in the SPSS software (version 30.0). The majority of participants reported continuous monitoring of care (87.5%) and a positive perception about communication between professionals (75%), demonstrating a predominantly satisfactory transition of care. However, there was weakness in the emotional support offered by the nursing team (37.5%), showing an imbalance between the technical and humanistic dimensions of care. It is concluded that the transition of pediatric care requires a balance between technical competence and empathy, and the implementation of institutional protocols, continuous training and humanization strategies that promote safer, more welcoming and child- and family-centered care is recommended.
