Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Investigations focused on an effective and reliable instrument, to sustain and guarantee the quality of care provided by nursing professionals based on scientific evidence with regard to an instrument for classifying IAD in children aged zero to five; OBJECTIVES: Map the instruments available in the literature for classifying incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) in children; METHOD: scoping review, conducted according to the guidelines of the Joanne Briggs Institute – JBI22; checklist recommendations: preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses for scoping review: PRISMA-ScR16, The eligibility criteria were defined using the acronym PCC (population, concept and context), considering the criteria established until the final sample; RESULT: After crossing the descriptors, 8,082 articles were found, distributed as follows: 2,181 articles in LILACS, 2,005 in PubMed, 1,877 in Cuiden, 1,430 in Scopus and 589 in CINAHL. Of this total 8,082, seven were selected for full reading (abstracts and full text): six from PubMed; one from Lilacs; In the other databases, none were selected for full reading. After applying the criteria: inclusion and exclusion, four were excluded due to duplications and three were selected as the final sample; CONCLUSION: There is a gap and scarcity in the literature, which is the contribution to change the completed statistics and serve as an indicator of a source of information for health professionals and the population of scientific relevance and reliable knowledge for classification, prevention and treatment of DAI.
