Abstract

The global climate crisis, driven by human activities such as fossil fuel burning and deforestation, demands urgent action to protect the environment and ensure climate justice. The energy transition, with a focus on renewable sources such as biofuels, is essential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Brazil, with its natural wealth, stands out in the production of renewable energy, especially biogas, which uses organic waste to generate clean energy. Despite the advances, economic interests and the slow pace of decarbonization challenge the implementation of effective policies. Robust regulation and incentives are needed to popularize biogas and address global warming.
