The study highlights sport as a strategic dimension that drives social, economic and cultural development, with technology and sports intelligence playing a central role in its modernization. At the same time, it highlights the importance of financing and the valorization of intellectual property for the sustainability of long-term projects in the sector. The main objective of the research is to integrate technological prospecting and sports financing in Bahia, analyzing the challenges and possibilities for strengthening regional sports intelligence. The methodology adopted is qualitative, exploratory and descriptive, and involved the critical analysis of public financing policies and the strategic use of intangible assets. The article highlights the need for more structured and data-driven sports management in Bahia, in contrast to the lack of patents and the limited focus of funding on R&D and IP. The research exemplifies the importance of initiatives such as GEEM – Sports Management in Brazilian States and Municipalities, from the Federal University of Paraná, to systematize information and best practices. It is concluded that, without a paradigm shift that includes strategic investment in research and development and the protection of intellectual property, Bahia could lose opportunities for development and positioning in the national and international sports scene.
