PLAY AND THE HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHILD: A LOOK AT CULTURES, SPACE, AND TEACHER MEDIATION

The proposed theme allows us to analyze play in the developmental process of children within the school and family context. These aspects relate to the cultures that reflect the traditions present in the society in which the child is embedded and important points regarding the space where play develops, as well as the importance of pedagogical mediation. The proposal is based on authors such as Kishimoto (2011), Borba (2012), and the National Curriculum Guidelines for Early Childhood Education (2010), supported by qualitative research. From these references, it will be possible to investigate the importance of pedagogical mediation in the schooling process, exploring how the school environment can stimulate playful practices that contribute to the integral development of children.
