La rinofima, comúnmente conocida como "nariz de patata", es una afección benigna, crónica y poco frecuente, considerada la forma más avanzada de rosácea, correspondiente a la cuarta y última etapa de esta enfermedad inflamatoria de la piel (Dick, 2023). Si bien la rosácea afecta predominantemente a mujeres, la rinofima tiene una marcada predilección por los hombres, especialmente en personas caucásicas mayores de 50 años. Esta afección es poco frecuente en poblaciones afroamericanas y asiáticas (Chauhan, 2020).
