THE EDUCATIONAL ROLE OF THE SCHOOL AGENT

Based on the premise that the main function of school education is the transmission and assimilation of scientific knowledge, which is carried out collectively by various subjects within the institutional environmental concept expressed in extensive educational literature. This work aims to understand how educational action is implemented in schools based on the role of the school agent and to analyze its specificities. The object and subjects of this study were the researcher and his or her work environment—an elementary school (grades 1-5) in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. This is an action-inspired research project, combined with the qualitative tools of field observations and related literature. Data collection was conducted through participant observations recorded in a travel diary and analysis of public service exam notices, with a full description of the nomenclature and specific requirements that prescribe and standardize the actions and work to be performed. The analysis of notices with prescriptions for similar work in neighboring cities where the school agent/researcher works served as a guide.
