APLICABILIDAD DE LA RESONANCIA MAGNÉTICA EN EL DIAGNÓSTICO DE LAS DISFUNCIONES DE LA ARTICULACIÓN TEMPOROMANDIBULAR

Objetivos: Esta revisión sistemática busca analizar la relación entre los Trastornos Temporomandibulares (TTM) y la resonancia magnética (RM). Métodos: Se recopilaron artículos publicados en la base de datos PubMed para sintetizar la evidencia científica. Resultados: Dada la complejidad anatómica de la región orofacial y la superposición de síntomas, se requiere apoyo para confirmar la presencia o ausencia de disfunción (TTM). Conclusiones: La RM es indispensable y proporciona mayor comodidad al paciente; al no requerir una apertura bucal excesiva en ciertas etapas, evita la tensión muscular y aumenta la precisión de la anamnesis.
