BETWEEN STONE AND INSPIRATION: A CULTURAL HOTEL AGENDATED TO ART, TIME AND LANDSCAPE

Abstract

This study presents an innovative architectural proposal for the installation of a Cultural Hotel in Pedra Bonita, a city located in the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais. The objective of this study is to develop a project for a cultural establishment, consisting of a hotel and galleries, that will be a space that values and honors the culture of Minas Gerais, in its various expressions, in addition to offering hospitality with identity. With approximately 7,000 inhabitants, the city stands out for its lush natural landscape and traditional cultural manifestations that are part of its intangible heritage. The idea is to contribute to the sustainable development of the region by valuing ecological and community tourism, promoting social inclusion, job creation and income, in addition to preserving the environment. The architectural project was designed with sustainable principles, adopting passive solutions for thermal comfort and using eco-friendly materials, such as Compressed Earth Block (BTC) and wood from reforestation. The hotel will be integrated into the local topography and will offer spaces dedicated to cultural experiences, including workshops on traditional knowledge, art galleries, typical cuisine and environments that encourage coexistence between residents and visitors. The research is based on authors who discuss tourism as a driver of territorial development and architecture as a tool for environmental preservation and cultural identity. In this way, the Hotel Cultural de Pedra Bonita seeks to be a replicable model of responsible tourism, combining tradition with innovation, culture with nature, sustainability with a sense of belonging.
