This article presents the relationship between the RAMI 4.0 architecture and the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), based on a case study conducted in a community-based woodworking shop in the Carirí community, where the production process was digitized using the mentioned applications. The study was based on an exploratory-descriptive methodology with a qualitative approach, reflecting the participant's own interest in achieving satisfactory results. As a result, it was observed that the layers of physical assets (such as machines and sensors), integration and communication (through the digitization of shop floor data), and information and functionality (through planning, control, and monitoring) are directly correlated within the system. The integration and communication layer directly demonstrates the digitization of production, achieving satisfactory and promising results for this and future studies.
