Abstract

Non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) is a complex clinical condition characterized by acute myocardial ischemia without ST-segment elevation on electrocardiogram. This study provides a comprehensive review of the pathophysiological mechanisms, diagnosis, risk stratification, and therapeutic strategies for NSTEMI, emphasizing current clinical evidence. The role of high-sensitivity cardiac troponins in early detection of myocardial injury and the importance of risk stratification for guiding pharmacological and interventional treatment are highlighted. Despite significant advances, mortality and morbidity remain substantial, particularly in resource-limited settings. Primary and secondary prevention through strict control of cardiovascular risk factors remains central to reducing recurrent events.
