Resumen

La pandemia de COVID-19 ha puesto de manifiesto la vulnerabilidad de la salud mental de los profesionales de la salud, quienes se han enfrentado a sobrecarga laboral, escasez de recursos, dilemas éticos y un riesgo constante de contagio. Este estudio busca analizar los impactos psicosociales de la pandemia en estos trabajadores, con énfasis en el síndrome de burnout, entendido como un fenómeno ocupacional multidimensional caracterizado por agotamiento emocional, despersonalización y reducción de la satisfacción profesional. La investigación se realizó mediante una revisión bibliográfica y documental, basada en literatura científica nacional e internacional publicada entre 2019 y 2025, así como en informes institucionales de la Organización Mundial de la Salud y el Ministerio de Salud. Los resultados indican que, en el período pospandémico, el burnout persiste como un problema estructural, asociado a factores organizacionales y condiciones laborales precarias. Es evidente que las estrategias individuales, como las prácticas de gestión del estrés, son insuficientes si no se acompañan de políticas institucionales sólidas y acciones gubernamentales dirigidas a promover la salud mental. Se concluye que abordar el burnout requiere un enfoque integral que combine el apoyo psicosocial, el desarrollo profesional y la transformación de las condiciones laborales, garantizando la dignidad de los trabajadores y una atención médica de calidad.
