Abstract

To describe the epidemiological profile of tuberculosis cases in the municipality of Palmas, Tocantins, from 2020 to 2023, based on secondary data from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN). Methods: This is a descriptive and quantitative epidemiological study using public data from DATASUS. Variables such as sex, age group, race, education level, homeless population, incarcerated individuals, HIV-positive individuals, Health Macroregion, clinical form, type of entry, and directly observed treatment were analyzed. Results: Annual variation in the number of notifications was observed, with a reduction in 2020, possibly related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and a progressive increase in subsequent years. Most cases occurred in young adult men, with a predominance of the pulmonary form. Conclusion: The study highlights the importance of continuous surveillance and strengthening tuberculosis control actions in Primary Health Care in Palmas.
