Educational equity is a cornerstone for promoting inclusion and diversity in Brazilian education, serving as a guiding principle for addressing the historical inequalities that mark the educational system. More than just equal access, equity seeks to recognize and meet the different needs of students, ensuring adequate learning conditions in different contexts. In this sense, it is essential to understand the cultural, social, and economic diversity that exists in Brazilian schools, as well as the institutional and pedagogical mechanisms that can promote a more just and democratic education. The discussion on equity, inclusion, and diversity is directly related to public education policies, teaching practices, and school management. The implementation of actions aimed at reducing barriers, valuing differences, and building welcoming teaching environments has a direct impact on student retention and success. In addition, the current debate highlights the need to articulate critical perspectives that go beyond normativity, proposing effective changes in curricula, methodologies, and teacher training. Thus, educational equity should be understood not only as an ideal, but as an ethical-political principle capable of sustaining significant transformations in the Brazilian educational field. By assuming this central role, we contribute to the implementation of inclusive education committed to diversity, in line with contemporary demands for social justice.
