Abstract

The teaching of history plays a fundamental role in the critical and civic education of individuals, enabling them to understand the past, reflect on the present, and plan for the future. This article seeks to analyze the relevance of history teaching as a tool for social awareness, preservation of collective memory, and promotion of democratic values, highlighting its importance in the educational process and in strengthening citizenship.
