Objective: to discuss the economic, social and environmental potential of wine tourism and creative tourism in the São Francisco Valley, highlighting the municipalities belonging to RIDE, Juazeiro/BA and Petrolina/PE, as well as to specify the potential promoted by these activities in this region. Methodology: the research was developed from the qualitative exploratory method, through bibliographic data (academic publications). Originality/relevance: the research has its originality and relevance since it demonstrates the economic, social and environmental potential of wine tourism and creative tourism, allowing the establishment of greater strategies for the development of these activities in the researched locations. Results: the grouping of expected results encompasses both practical contributions to the advancement of these geographic areas, as well as theoretical contributions to the academic body. Social/management contributions: the main objective is to contribute to the advancement of discussions on the issue of wine tourism and creative tourism in the region outlined in the research, as well as to broaden the debate on public policies for the promotion of these modalities of sustainable tourism, not only in the region, but in the country.
