PSYCHOLOGIST-PATIENT INTERACTION: PRACTICAL AND THEORETICAL ASPECTS

Abstract

This article was conceived in light of considerations regarding practical experience and theoretical aspects concerning the encounter between patient and psychologist in the analytic setting. The overall objective of this work is to describe theoretical and practical aspects that permeate the relationship between psychologist and patient in the analytic setting. With regard to specific objectives: to conceptualize what clinical management is; to discuss the phenomenon of Transference, and finally, to address Countertransference. This work is justified by the fact that the researcher's contact with elements of psychological practice in his preparation for academic internship has awakened his desire to disseminate knowledge that has an active impact on those who are present in the practice of psychology. To this end, this work is based on the following hypotheses: Clinical management is a fundamental element for the performance of the analytical process. In the transference, according to the patient's idealizations, the patient performs hostile behavior with the psychologist. In the countertransference, in view of the psychologist's representations, the psychologist manifests insecurity with the patient. This work uses bibliographic research as its methodological approach, following classic references from Freud (1910 [1996]), as well as incorporating the contributions of Cunha (2007), Hutz (2016), and Dalgalarrondo (2019), whose collected data allow students and professionals to attain knowledge to be applied in their respective fields of practice.
