NBR 16752:2020: ADVANCES IN THE STANDARDIZATION OF TECHNICAL DRAWING AND ITS IMPACTS ON BRAZILIAN ENGINEERING

Abstract

NBR 16752:2020 represents a significant advancement in the standardization of technical drawing in Brazil, replacing the former standards NBR 10068:1987 and NBR 10582:1988, which had been in force for more than three decades. This update consolidates guidelines related to sheet formats, margins, frames, legends, scales, and graphic organization, aiming to ensure greater uniformity, clarity, and reliability in the production of technical documents. Standardization is essential for contemporary engineering, marked by the complexity of projects and the need for precise communication among different areas, companies, and educational institutions. In this context, the standard contributes to the integration between academic practice and the labor market, promoting project quality, productivity, and the management of technical information.
