Abstract

The article analyzes hydroponic production as a technological and sustainable alternative to the traditional agricultural model, which is marked by resource waste and environmental impacts. By eliminating the use of soil and optimizing water consumption, hydroponics offers high productivity in reduced spaces and promotes social inclusion, especially in urban and semi-arid areas. Associated with Agriculture 4.0, through the use of artificial intelligence, sensors, and automation, it allows for greater control, quality, and traceability of food. The text emphasizes the importance of public policies, technical training, and integration between institutional actors to consolidate this technique as a pillar of modern, sustainable, and resilient agricultural development, aimed at food security and tackling climate change.
