Abstract

The construction industry has been under increasing pressure to modernize its processes and enhance productivity, in a context where digital transformation is redefining organizational practices across multiple sectors. In this scenario, this article aims to analyze, through a qualitative literature review, the contributions of disruptive technologies to innovative construction management in Brazil, gathering recent evidence that highlights advancements, challenges, and opportunities related to the implementation of such tools in the sector. The analysis covered national publications from 2015 to 2024, including scientific articles, technical reports, and specialized books. The main findings show that the adoption of solutions such as BIM, IoT, drones, digital platforms, and smart sensors has significantly improved efficiency, predictability, and sustainability in construction projects, especially when combined with collaborative and data-driven management models. Relevant barriers to expanding this process were also identified, such as low system interoperability, high implementation costs, lack of qualified professionals, and the absence of consistent public policies aimed at the construction sector. The study indicated that the effectiveness of technologies does not rely solely on their technical availability, but on the ability to coordinate efforts between companies, governments, educational institutions, and suppliers, as well as on the presence of an institutional environment that promotes innovation. It is concluded that innovative construction management, when integrated with disruptive technologies, represents a promising path to restructure the Brazilian construction sector, making it more competitive, sustainable, and aligned with contemporary paradigms of governance and digital transformation.
