Abstract

The increasing use of digital social networks in sports, particularly in football, is transforming how athletes interact, build their images, and develop. This study aimed to validate the content of a questionnaire (Questionnaire for Digital Social Networks - QRSD) designed to investigate the motivations, usage patterns, and impacts of these platforms on football players across different categories, from grassroots to the professional level. The methodology involved the construction of the 40-item instrument, based on prior qualitative data (interviews and focus groups), followed by content validation by a panel of four expert judges from the fields of Physical Education and Sport Psychology. The Content Validity Index (CVI) was used, with a cut-off point of 0.80 for expert agreement. The results indicated that all 40 questions and the general evaluation criteria (clarity, relevance, coherence, adequacy, and comprehensiveness) met the established minimum index, thus being considered valid. It is concluded that the QRSD is a robust, valid, and reliable instrument for collecting data on the implications of social media use in the football context, and can support future research in Sport Psychology and Sport Management.
