MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION IN NURSING: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Management and administration in nursing are fundamental pillars for the organization of health services, directly influencing the quality of care, patient safety, and the appreciation of the nursing team. This article aims to analyze scientific production on nursing management and administration, identifying concepts, competencies of nurse managers, and challenges faced in professional practice. This is a descriptive and exploratory literature review study, conducted based on scientific articles, books, and official documents published in recent years. The results show that nurses play a strategic role in team leadership, planning, decision-making, and articulation of work processes, highlighting the need for continuous training to meet contemporary health system demands.
