The concept of One Health refers to an integrated approach that recognizes the interdependence between human health, animal health, and environmental health, a perspective incorporated into global health agendas in the face of increasing complex health risks. This study aims to critically analyze recent scientific production on the One Health concept in the context of pandemic prevention. To this end, a qualitative narrative literature review was conducted using searches in the PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO, and Virtual Health Library databases. The analysis of the selected studies revealed that the literature converges in highlighting integrated surveillance, intersectoral governance, biosecurity, and articulation with international regulatory frameworks as central axes. Furthermore, challenges related to the operationalization of the concept are observed, including institutional limitations, structural inequalities, and a diversity of conceptual interpretations. Thus, it can be concluded that One Health is consolidating itself as a relevant theoretical and strategic framework for pandemic prevention, while at the same time demanding continuous efforts in conceptual systematization and institutional strengthening for its effective application in the field of public health.
