CRANIAL ASYMMETRY IN INFANTS BETWEEN 4 AND 12 MONTHS OF AGE

There are several types of cranial asymmetry, such as plagiocephaly, brachycephaly, and scaphocephaly. The causes may include gestational age, prenatal factors, and postnatal factors such as the infant’s habitual positioning during the day. Diagnosis should be made by a pediatrician or physician who monitors the newborn’s growth and development. Treatment can be performed through proper positioning care and, in some cases, with the use of cranial orthoses. This study aims to address cranial asymmetry, its types, diagnostic methods, and possible treatments based on scientific articles and studies conducted by professionals in the field.
