Abstract

This study analyzes the experience of technical training in the diesel sector in Brazil and Latin America, highlighting its impact on the education of more than 20,000 professionals and the transformation of automotive maintenance practices. The research follows an exploratory-descriptive design, drawing on institutional documents, training records, and workshop reports to understand the relationship between professional education and competitiveness in the sector. Results demonstrate that structured qualification programs reduced rework, improved service standardization, and expanded technical reliability, while also fostering socioeconomic inclusion of workers and building a regional ecosystem of advanced maintenance. The discussion shows that such practices are exportable to international markets, particularly the United States, which faces increasing demand for specialized technicians and regulatory pressures. It is concluded that systematic professional training in the diesel sector constitutes a strategic vector of productivity, sustainability, and innovation, consolidating itself as a replicable model in global contexts.
