Abstract

Defined as "death of bone tissue due to lack of blood supply", osteonecrosis or aseptic necrosis is a pathological condition associated with predisposing factors such as the use of medications, radiotherapy therapies, alcoholism, and idiopathic alterations ¹,². Studies show that this pathology is often associated with long bones, affecting the femur with a high incidence, followed by gnathic bones, whose inflammatory processes are exacerbated by a wide microbiota presented in the oral cavity .
