Abstract

Prune Belly syndrome presents changes that include deficits in the abdominal muscles, with different degrees of renal dysplasia as well as occlusion of the urinary tract, often including bilateral cryptorchidism. Objective of the study is to describe Prune Belly syndrome according to current literature. This study is an integrative review, in which the operational stages were divided into six phases, namely: elaboration of the guiding question, literature search, data collection, critical analysis of the included studies, discussion of the results and presentation of the integrative review. SPB is classically characterized by the congenital absence of abdominal muscles, urinary tract defects as well as bilateral cryptorchidism. Usually men are affected.
