Abstract

This article addresses the Physical Fitness Test (TAF) in the Military Police of Tocantins (PMTO), emphasizing its importance for occupational health and the operational efficiency of military police officers. The general objective of the research is to analyze the TAF as an institutional tool associated with quality of life and improved professional performance. The study adopts a qualitative approach, based on a literature review and documentary analysis of legislation and internal regulations of the corporation. The findings identify the TAF as a relevant instrument for physical assessment and workforce management, although its standardized criteria may present challenges, especially for military police officers over 40 years of age. The literature shows that maintaining physical conditioning throughout a career requires continuous policies of encouragement, technical monitoring, and psychological support. The analysis indicates that, despite the need for improvements, the current PMTO’s TAF model is valid and functional when integrated into broader institutional policies that promote health care and professional appreciation. It is concluded that the proposed objective was achieved; however, there remains a need for technical adjustments and multidisciplinary support to strengthen this health and performance management policy.
