Abstract

This study used untargeted metabolomics and mass spectrometry to chemically distinguish Baccharis trimera from Baccharis microcephala, identifying a unique triterpene marker (m/z 597.4505) for quality control of B. trimera. The findings provide a practical approach for species differentiation and improved quality assurance in the use of B. trimera for gastrointestinal treatments.
